Camping is for everyone

Many of us enjoy camping. We like to get away from it all and enjoy nature. Hardcore campers relish the challenges of a given environment, but for some, these very challenges may be a reason to shy away from camping as they feel it has to be a contest and a struggle with nature. It doesn’t have to be. There are many different forms of camping to suit every temperament, fitness, and level of experience.

RV

Parked RV

An RV, or recreational vehicle, is a great way of exploring the wilderness without leaving behind all the conveniences of home. RVs are often equipped with stoves, refrigerators, bathrooms, soft beds, and air conditioning. They come with their own generators, and all they need is to be parked in a campground. A camping trailer is like an RV except that it is pulled behind a vehicle and can be disconnected.

ATV

If an RV or trailer is beyond the budget, campers can simply transport a tent by car. Beginner campers often resort to this kind of camping. Light gear can also be loaded onto a bicycle or motorbike. An ATV, or all-terrain vehicle, can be a great way to get about. This may be a more friendly mode of travel for the elderly and disabled. ATVs can carry a little more gear, such as chairs and tables.

Backpacking

Backpacking is a great way to explore remote areas

Those who don’t want to use vehicles at all prefer to carry camping gear in backpacks. Hikers enjoy exploring remote spots that vehicles may not be able to reach.

Gear

Seasonal camping, especially in the winter, will require particular clothing, tents, sleeping bags and other gear. Many adventurers combine kayaking or canoeing with camping and use their vessels to carry the weightier kit.

Glamping

Cozy glamping resort

‘Glamping’ is a relatively recent phenomenon and involves luxury-style accommodation and amenities set up in remote areas. They are like top class resorts in the wilderness.

So, with many kinds of camping possible, there should be a nature holiday that will suit everyone. Take some time to work out what would be ideal for you and get camping!
