If you want to treat yourself and your dad something special this season, then skip the leather wallet and the tie, and take him to Idaho on a fly-fishing trip. Snake River in Idaho offers incredible fishing conditions and what you can mostly find here is a trout. More than 65 percent of Idaho territory is government owned, which means most of that land is protected with water-access laws. If you don't think Idaho is a good fly-fishing choice, go for a rustic vacation in Montana.
