Hanauma Bay, Oahu, Hawaii

Hanauma Bay is Hawaii’s most famous snorkel destination. Its shallow waters offer a collection of vivid underwater colors. The views are unique and for some life changing. Hanauma Bay was once a volcano crater but now is an easily accessible bay with calm waters. Here you can see more than  50 types of Hawaiian sea creatures, such as milletseed, raccoon and threadfin butterflyfish.

Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands

Grand Cayman is one of the most popular islands in the Caribbean. The warm, crystal clear water attracts lots of people for their perfect summer vacation.

One of the main reasons why people like coming here is Stingray City. This is the place where swimmers are allowed to get close to stingrays and feed them. These majestic creatures are used to human presence and accept the food.

Snorkeling became a must-do for all the visitors of the island who like to experience something new.

Of course, the waters around the island teem with tropical fish, such as angelfish, puffer fish, trigger fish, and cowfish. For the easiest access go straight to the Seven Mile Beach where the coral reefs lie offshore.

Santa Catalina, California

West Coast folks don’t need to travel across the world to enjoy the best snorkeling. Some people are just lucky enough to live close to Santa Catalina, which is only 22 miles off the coast of Los Angeles.

The island is home to a variety of sea life that you can see this summer if you get yourself out there. Surrounded by crystalline water and kelp forests, Santa Catalina is a home of many fish species including flying fish, Garibaldi (California’s state fish), perch, anemones and spiny lobsters. Casino Point Marine Park was the state’s first designated underwater marine park and offers spectacular snorkeling.
