Farm to Feet, makers of 100% American socks, has selected nine Appalachian Trail thru-hikers as finalists to be featured on the packaging of its Damascus Elite hiking sock. Farm to Feet is inviting the public to vote for their favorite male and female finalist at http://www.farmtofeet.com.
Farm to Feet selected the finalists from over 100 Appalachian Trail thru-hikers interviewed last spring at the annual Trail Days event in Damascus, VA.
“All the thru-hikers we met at Trail Days had amazing and inspiring stories, but the stories from these nine truly stood out,” said David Petri, Farm to Feet VP of Marketing.
Male finalists include: Brian “Cabana Boy” Glass of Danvers, MA; John “Dirt Stew” Haffner of Asheville, NC; Chris “Cowboy” Jones of Chesapeake, VA; James “Lazy Eagle” Cain of Roanoke, VA; and Paul “Sauerkraut” Hammond of Scottsdale, AZ.
Female finalists include: Sasha “ReBoot” Jurgilas of Alexandria, VA; Christina “Dormouse” Martens of Asheville, NC; Lisa “Cheeks” Pilikinton of Markyate, UK; and Megan “Sourstraw” McGowan of Scottsdale, AZ.

2016 marked the 30th anniversary of Trail Days. Over 20,000 people, including Appalachian Trail thru-hikers and outdoors enthusiasts, descended on the town of about a 1,000 to camp, mend gear, recuperate and celebrate the trail.
During Trail Days, Farm to Feet provided each thru-hiker with a pair of its new Damascus Elite hiking socks and an area for the hikers to relax and refresh. Through out the weekend Farm to Feet documented the stories of thru-hikers in its search for hikers to profile on next year’s Damascus packaging.
Farm to Feet names all of its socks for locations related to the brand and features personalities associated with them on the packaging. The current men’s and women’s packaging of the Damascus features multiple Damascus residents including:
The Damascus Elite hiking socks feature all the construction highlights typically found in Farm to Feet socks, including a seamless toe closure and 100% American materials, plus micro channel circumferential ventilation, 19-micron US merino yarn, targeted hexagonal reinforcement, and an enhanced Comfort Compression Fit featuring LYCRA® fiber.
