Paralympic Snowboarder Nicole Roundy Signs with The Factory Agency For Representation

The Factory Agency (“TFA”), a Minneapolis based specialized sports and entertainment marketing agency, is excited to announce the signing of U.S. Paralympic snowboarder Nicole Roundy.

The first above-knee amputee – male or female – to compete in adaptive snowboarding, Nicole took home a silver medal at the 2006 United States National Championships. She went on to compete in World Cup snowboard cross, slopestyle, slalom and halfpipe events and represented Team USA in the 2014 Paralympic Winter Games in Sochi, Russia, where she placed eighth.

Roundy, a 17-time World Cup medalist is coming off of an incredible season where she claimed the All-Around Globe in Boardercross, and has her sights set on competing in the PyeongChang 2018 Paralympic Winter Games. With 2018 on the horizon, Roundy first will aim for the 2017 World Para Snowboard Championships in Big White, Canada, in February.

“I am extremely excited to be working with The Factory Agency moving forward,” Roundy said. “As my athletic achievements have grown over the years, so have many great marketing partnership opportunities and speaking engagements. It is a great feeling to have an agency who not only represents my brand in a professional way, but also works diligently to ensure the sustainability of my career as a professional athlete.”

“We are extremely excited and honored for Nicole Roundy to join The Factory Agency family,” said Managing Partner Jeremy Snyder. “The Factory Agency will work with Nicole in sharing her empowering story through corporate partnerships, endorsements, marketing opportunities, speaking engagements, personal appearances and media opportunities leading up and through the PyeongChang 2018 Winter Paralympic Games.”

The Bountiful, Utah, native was just 8 when she was diagnosed with Osteogenic Sarcoma, a form of bone cancer. After aggressive chemotherapy, her right leg was amputated above the knee. She participated in various sports growing up and was introduced to three track skiing in 2002. Her love for the adrenaline associated with the sport motivated her to defy the “impossible” and learn to snowboard.

Just four years later, Roundy became the first above-knee amputee to compete in adaptive snowboarding, taking home a silver medal from the United States National Championships. She went on to compete in World Cup snowboard cross, slopestyle, slalom and halfpipe events.

Earlier this year, she was named the Adaptive Female Athlete of the Year at the 2016 Governor’s State of Sport Awards in her home state of Utah. In September, Roundy joined a group of wounded veterans in an impressive expedition to hike the Grand Canyon rim-to-rim.

Roundy is a motivational speaker and an advocate for both The National Ability Center and The Challenged Athletes Foundation. Schools, universities and global corporations routinely engage her to speak and inspire. She encourages others to live an active, healthy lifestyle. Her summer activities include CrossFit, yoga, hiking, wakeboarding, and paddle boarding, all of which keep her fit for winter competitions.
